About

The Communication Podcast is a collaborative project between two communication Ph.D students in the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. The podcast explores existing ideas and new research in the Communication discipline in ways that students, professionals, and lay persons can understand.

Hosts:

Eric Wiemer is a second year PhD student in the Lamb School. Eric holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his work focused on classical media effects. In his research Eric has worked to expand the scope of frameworks such as parasocial relationships and agenda-setting as well as to explore the processes through which political elites, the news media, and the general public influence one another on political issue.

Henry Seeger is also a second year Ph.D. student in the Lamb School. Henry received his Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and his Master’s degree in Communication from Illinois State University. His research examines how people, communities, and organizations respond to food and water contamination. Currently, Henry is investigating how communities self-organize to enact resilience in response to water crises.
